Eyebrow restoration uses the same advancements and micro-technologies of scalp hair restoration. Follicular unit hair transplantation is a procedure done on an outpatient basis where individual follicles and hair are transplanted from areas where you have more than you need to bald or thinning areas.  These follicles typically contain 1-4 hairs.

In men, these follicles are taken from the “donor area”, which is the sides and back of the head.  It is these areas where the hair and follicles are resistant to the hormone DHT, which is the primary cause of male-pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia).

When transplanted, these hair and follicles maintain their resistance to DHT and will essentially continue to grow forever where genetically sensitive hair failed.

A completely natural look and hairline that is virtually undetectable is achieved through use of the advancements in micro-technologies but primarily through the artistic ability of the hair restoration surgeon.

During the procedure, which typically takes 3/4 to one full day, the Bosley physician creates recipient sites for the follicles and hair that will be transplanted.  These sites are created with specific depth, angle and placement to create a perfectly natural look.  Follicles with fewer and thinner hairs are used toward the front while follicles with a greater number and thicker hairs are used toward the top and back of the scalp.  This is how hair naturally grows.
