Choosing the Right Physician > Hair Transplant Surgery
Bosley Medical

There are several FDA approved or accepted treatments for hair loss but the only permanent solution is hair restoration surgery.

After conducting your research and deciding that permanent hair restoration is for you, the next step will be to find the physician for your goals.  Since Bosley Medical was founded in 1974, Dr. Bosley has contended that most any surgeon can be trained to perform the technical aspects of hair restoration surgery. However,  for the results to look natural with hair lines that are virtually undetectable , the physician must also have tremendous skill and artistry.

The result when you select a physician with this skill set, is that chances are nobody will know that you had hair restoration surgery.  Well-done permanent hair restoration procedures are extremely difficult to detect.  It’s only the bad procedures that stand out so it’s ill-advised to cut corners and to search for bargains.  There is one opportunity to get you hair transplant surgery done right.

Here are a few factors to consider when you are deciding on a hair restoration surgeon:

Credentials:  Quality control is critical.  At Bosley artistic and surgical standards are strictly maintained.  Bosley physicians have a minimum 10 years surgical experience and are trained extensively in the art of permanent hair restoration.  All affiliated physicians are part of ongoing and extensive training in the latest Bosley technologies and techniques.

Full-time physicians:  Make sure that hair restoration is all that your physician does and that it is full-time.  For more than 34 years, Bosley has only specialized in hair restoration.  With this emphasis, Bosley has pioneered every major advancement in the field of permanent hair restoration for more than 30 years.

It is recommended that physicians or medical groups that provide cosmetic procedures other than hair restoration be avoided.  Furthermore, it is advised to avoid groups who offer “hair growth” lotions, scalp massages or other treatments that are worthless.

Physician’s artistic ability:  Surgical skill and experience are obviously important but artistic ability is the single most important factor when selecting your hair restoration surgeon.

This skill is often not fully developed by many surgeons even cosmetic surgeons.
