Bosley Hair > Procedure Costs and Details
Bosley Medical
The only permanent solution to hair loss is hair restoration surgery though other solutions like the Bosley LaserComb work well for those in the earliest stages of hair loss or as part of a complete treatment plan developed by you and your Bosley physician.
Stages of hair loss for men are illustrated by the Norwood Scale. Bosley patients representing each stage with their results after permanent hair restoration can be seen in the Bosley Patient Gallery.

Bosley Hair Restoration
Bosley permanent hair restoration uses state-of-the-art micro-technologies and follicular unit hair transplantation to achieve results that are perfectly natural looking and hairlines that are virtually undetectable.
In follicular unit hair transplantation, individual hair follicles, which typically contain 1-4 hairs are transplanted from areas where you have more than you need to thinning or bald areas. In men, the hair on the sides and back of the head is used as the “donor hair” because it is resistant to the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
DHT is the primary cause of male pattern hair loss, where hair recedes from the temples and thins at the crown of the head. Transplanted hair and follicles, which are resistant to the effects of DHT, retain their resistance when transplanted and will essentially grow forever where genetically sensitive hair failed.
The permanent hair restoration procedure is remarkably simple, done on an outpatient basis and typically takes only 3/4 to one full day to complete. Local anesthesia is used, so you are able to enjoy your time by reading magazines, listening to music or even watching available movies. Some patients choose to sleep during the procedure.
Cost is dependent on a few factors but it’s important to note that each patient has individual goals. Cost will vary based on these goals and the fact that each patient is unique.
Generally speaking though, the cost is primarily dependant on the number of grafts used in the procedure. The typical Bosley patient will invest anywhere from four thousand to twelve thousand dollars.
Only a Bosley physician can give you a definitive answer on cost. However, Bosley Senior Counselors are available at over 70 locations throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico to answer your general questions on the causes of hair loss, treatment options and a typical range of cost for these treatment options.
To schedule a consultation with a Bosley Senior Counselor call 1-800-985-6405 or fill out this short form. You’ll also have the option at the top of the form to receive a free DVD and Guide Book.
