Jeanine Acca, 36 of New York City suddenly started to lose her hair just 3 weeks after a tumor was

Permanent Hair Restoration
removed from her parotid gland. Thinking her hair loss was due to the surgery, she visited a dermatologist only to learn that she had female pattern hair loss, which was unrelated to her procedure.
Jeanine’s story is told in the January 5, 2009 issue of First Magazine, Healthy living made easy. Jeanine’s story was also featured on CBS Morning News in New York where Ken Washenik, M.D., Ph.D, Medical Director of Bosley, was interviewed. In this interview, Dr. Washenik explains that the primary cause of hair loss in both men and women is genetics. However, he continued to explain that there are other potential causes:
-harsh chemical treatments
-pregnancy and childbirth
-autoimmune disorders
-thyroid disorders
-illness
-medications
Before it is determined that hair loss is a result of genetics, the other causes must first be effectively ruled out. Dr. Washenik provided examples of these other hair loss causes from blood pressure medication to high fever with illness and advises seeing your physician to determine the cause of your hair loss.
The interview with Dr. Washenik and Jeanine Acca is available in this video from CBS Morning News.
