In part 2 of Seth Garon’s meeting with Dr. Winans of the Bosley Medical Seattle office, Seth first places himself on the Norwood Scale.

The Norwood scale displays the progression of male pattern hair loss.  Today, Seth has placed himself on the scale as a 5a, a classification of which Dr. Winans agrees.  The Norwood scale classes as well as representative Bosley patients from each class are available in the Bosley Patient Gallery.

Bosley Restored Hairlines

Toward the end of this segment Dr. Winans assesses Seth’s donor hair and finds that it is thick.  It is this donor hair that is transplanted artistically to recipient sites and placed in multiple directions just as hair grows naturally.  Donor hair is comprised of follicular units, each with groupings of 1-4 hairs.  These groupings are placed with finer hair and smaller groupings toward the front and thicker hair with larger groupings farther back.
